Even if just for a moment
Even if just for a glance
Even if just for a shimmer.
We’ve been terribly ill and out of sorts. Here’s us checking back in, trying to write some more happy and decadent things and get back in touch with y’all. We sincerely apologize if we haven’t been answering, commenting, or interacting. Hopefully we’ll be able to keep up with y’all again for a little longer this time around!
Stay warm and fuzzy – TwoLoveBirds
via Daily Prompt: Distant
Today is a tragic day, for many obvious reasons. As we mourn London’s tragedy and raise funds for Manchester, sometimes there are no words appropriate. Please give to appropriate charities if you are able to do so. If you need a distraction, as always, here are some cute cat pictures.
It would seem that the TwoLoveBirds have been distant as of late.
Where have these TwoLoveBirds been?
Have they been writing smutty things? (Gasp!)
Have they been admiring cuddly things?
Have they been napping in their nest?
Perhaps it has been all that and even more!
Stay tuned, we may have some very lovely surprises coming up for you soon! 😉
We are well aware that many LGBTQ+ around the world suffer immensely from no rights, and many are at risk of losing crucial rights soon. On this day of combatting homophobia and transphobia, the outlook may seem dark. Here is some fluff, if it can help.
Hello little birdies! Today we are double-posting in order to celebrate IDAHOT! Yayyy!
So stretch out your legs! Put on your glamour!
Maybe wake up a little more …
Then CELEBRATE! Get out there and show off your ‘glam!
Or, if you are a cat, get your belly rubs!
Have a lovely day little birdies!
via Daily Prompt: Precipice
As a lesfic writer currently slaving away at stories of two women madly in love (oh, woe is me!) certain words just make me giggle when I read them. ‘Precipice’ just happens to be one of those. Why? Because it could mean so much.
It could mean a moment, a special glance of the eyes that plunge the action onward. It could be that touch, that one caress, that tips the pleasure over the edge. It could be those words, those special and tender ones, that send the relationship spiraling to new heights.
It could be so many things. At least, that’s what the mind of a lovebird thinks.
So, decadent readers, what does ‘precipice’ mean to you?
via Daily Prompt: Collaboration
The collaboration between a writer and a cat is a special one.
The writer wants to write.
The cat will demand cuddles. To be petted. To be loved upon.
It will lay on the lap and purr. It will push the hands aside from the keyboard and purr louder.
Occasionally, with a huff, it will allow its servant to write.
Happy writing everyone! May your day be full of happy fur and cuddles!
via Daily Prompt: Temporary
Temporary. what is more temporary than the fleeting pleasure of a caress, the flying burst of an orgasm? We can try and express it, try and re-experience it for ourselves. But it is something so so passing that it is difficult to grasp. What does it feel like? What does it taste like, experience itself as?
A writer may struggle indefinitely with these concepts, for sexual pleasure is an extremely difficult thing to describe well. I think it is so difficult partly because erotic pleasure is one of the most sensual and beautiful things a human can experience in their lifetime. This sets the bar pretty high on what the author has to recreate. But it is the temporary aspect of it that makes it difficult to grasp. Even for ourselves, if we choose to do some ‘research’ (heheh), we are caught up in the moment. All that we are left with is memories of a fleeting sweetness, the ghost of a caress.
If one chooses to describe wine, for example, it is an easier thing to do. A taste lingers in the mouth and notes can be taken. It may taste like raspberries, it may be pungent. But of the erotic? It is passionate, sweet, wild, – yet it passes so quickly over us that it may feel like the blink of an eye. And so, its special quality often slips beyond the expanse of words and floats in a nebulous prism. We want it- yet we cannot describe it.
via Daily Prompt: Exposed
Writing, especially erotica, is all about exposing your characters. We want our readers to see them as they are, to define a moment and describe it in luscious detail- but to a point.
Oh no, here’s where it gets complicated.
As writers, you must consider what you are exposing. Are you comfortable sharing it? Are you comfortable writing about such things? Worse, does it detract from your scene or build it? There is much to consider before setting pen to paper (or fingers to keys in the case of a laptop).
Hmm… so much to think about.
Much like a photograph, a good story is tailored and narrowed to portray exactly what one wants. It is a precise, lovely, and (we hope) perfect glimpse into an array of emotions. To do this, you need to know before hand what, and how, you are exposing.
