So… We Moved

Well Birdies! Want to hear the story of how we moved?

First we lifted all sorts of boxes.birdie lift.jpg

We may have hurt our backs a little…

And we may have grown very tired…

But now we have a beautiful home to live in!birdie lift4.jpg

And that’s it little birdies! That’s the big ol’ story of how we moved, haha! (And yes, I did kind of hurt myself during the move, but it was over a month ago [!!!] so I’m all better now)

Meet Katrina!

Hey everyone! Now is time to meet Katrina – the lovely main character of my up and coming novel “Coffee Break”.

Who is Katrina? Well she is a lowly assistant working hard every day to make ends meet. She loves a strong cup of coffee almost as much as she loves retro vintage, all things puffy skirted, and of course… beautiful women in suits.

What will happen when she meets Kim (a beautiful woman in a suit, heh heh)? Can you possibly believe that I’m finally publishing this novel tomorrow?! I’m so so so excited!

And what’s even better? The first review for ‘Coffee Break’ is out! Check it out!

Wishing you all the very best of days! ❤

Meet Kim!

Meet Kim, everybody!

Kim is a high-rising businesswoman who’s love for success is only parallelled by her love of a good, strong, cup of coffee. That, and her love for women. Oh, woe!

“Coffee Break” is a happy, fluffy, and light tale about two unlikely women falling in love (with a good cup of coffee in hand, heh heh). What more is there to say? What would you like to know?

Puddy just wants to know how he can get out of his hand-knit sweater (evil chuckles).

Have a great day, everyone!

When Does a Book End?

Oh my goodness lil’ birdies! So I was convinced that I was going to finish writing this one book – and then take a breather. Refocus. Recenter. Wait patiently on my first editor’s feedback. Do what you’re supposed to do once you finish a big project.

But what happened instead?

Well, I had this dream the other day which gave me an idea for another story… not a big deal, it happens to me every so often. But then! Yesterday (the day I just so happened to declare the first book done and was starting to wonder what to do with myself next), I suddenly realized how to merge this new revelation with an old one and BAM! EPIC STORY TIME!

So now I’m knee thick in a transgender love story, complete with conspiracy and mystery and I’m wondering where the hell this plot is going and AGH! No rest for us wicked writers I suppose.

Wicked writers, puddy cat thinks. Very evwil. Must cuddle more.DSCN1136 (2).JPG

Exhausted from World Domination

Last night I almost finished a novel. There was a lot of world, a lot of domination (heh heh heh) so I feel like my puddy cat – a world dominator. Rawr. * cracks whip *

Last night – who knows if I’m actually going to keep any of it that I wrote? But it was a revelation, a Bam! Here’s the plot! And a ‘whoa, that’s where this has been going’.

For you see, last November I tried writing a novel. It failed most spectacularly. A few weeks ago, I tried rewriting it. And Lo! Behold! Something entirely different was produced. Different setting, different dynamics, different most everything.

Ah, I told myself, this is an entirely new story.

But Lo! Behold again! Last night’s writing careened, swerved, and aimed straight to land where last November’s book had started.

That’s right. Without knowing it, I was writing the back-drop/prequel to the other novel.  Now of course it isn’t a perfect fit but damn it’s close.

Isn’t it fascinating what can happen when we let the stories decide where they’re going?! I’m just so excited for this new story – it will probably be published sometime next year or late this year – but I might definitely start teasing you all about it before that! I’ve already got several drawings up and ready for it, muahahaha.

So Spoiled!

What can you get an author for your ‘got together’ anniversary (the anniversary of when you became a couple)? Cake, of course! Oh, but what kind of cake? Well…

A little birdie cake!DSCN1117 (2).JPG

My wife is the best, the sweetest, the most adoring and loveable squish anyone could want. She’s romantic and charming, and she went out of her way to get me this tiny little cake shaped and decorated like a bird. Just because of my writing blog, just for our ‘get together’ anniversary.

Like, isn’t that the cutest gift EVER??? Who could ask for more?

*gushes over adorably squeezeable wife*

I love my wife y’all. I really, really, do. 🙂

A Restful Day

Today is going to be a day of – hot coffee and cocoa and tea, old books to finish, and snuggling in my wool squish. There. Now that I have written it, it must be so, right? I am certainly not going to try and sneak in more ‘productive’ activities like dishes, or sketching out characters or… increasing my word counts?

I think as authors its very important we learn how and when to rest. The nightmares have been creeping up on me again. I shake as I sleep, jerk and twist, and practically throw myself out of the bed! I am not rested at all from a long period of ‘sleep’.

What does puddy cat have to say about this?

Just nap and read your book, silly human.DSCN1103 (2)

Oh, and why do I have a new book to read? Did I finish that last one I was reading? Did it have an exciting ending? Well, no, and I wouldn’t know … because I lost it.

Yep! I have no idea where it went, but it isn’t where it ought to be, which means it’s hopelessly lost in the mess of my home, haha.

Anywho, I’m going to try and rest today, so this post will be nice and short 🙂 I wish you all a nice restful day and lots of hot drinks! (we have cold and miserable weather here right now).
